This is a decidedly spectacular form of the regular Peperomia caperata, the "Emerald Ripple Peperomia." The hemispherical tuffet of deeply corrugated waxy leaves is highlighted by the pale foliaged center as new leaves emerge nearly albino, only adding champagne tones as they mature finally into rich green. Very sought after.
Many customers in the warmer states fine this particularly challenging as it will not variegate without cool (not cold) conditions.
Ours are GREENHOUSE GROWN and in such the cool needed to variegate is very limited. The plants sent are barely colored due to our growing conditions and mostly green.
When given cool conditions your new leaves will be nicely variegated.
Please LIMIT your order of this plant to ONE per order. It is in very high demand and supplies are limited at all times on this cutie.
At this time we have decided to accept orders for this plant but it has proven itself unable to ship in any sort of extreme weather. It will only ship when the weather cools but not freezes and warms but not hot. (think Fall or Spring) It also just in general tends to not travel well and may arrive droopy. We promise, she didn't leave in that state! She just really dislikes getting shipped.
Be aware that this plant is also proving the be a very large Diva for many customers and we cannot guarantee you are able to successfully grow this plant.

Some of you grow only indoors, some only in terrariums; many of you have hobby greenhouses; while a growing number of customers live in subtropical or tropical areas of the world. These brief codes are an attempt to suggest whether or not a particular plant will do well in your particular conditions.
If an entry has the cluster HP CGH, this means normal house plant culture will be successful if the plant is given a cool CGH moist location; however if the entry has the cluster CGH HP, you would interpret this to suggest that while Cool Greenhouse conditions are needed for total success with this plant, House Plant conditions will be adequate, while not ideal. If the cluster is HH CGH you would interpret this to mean that while in Zone 8 or below this will be winter hardy outdoor, further north it will need considerable mulch, a cold frame, or a Cool Greenhouse to thrive. And so on.
