"Rex Begonia Vine" Cambodian species with velvety quilted green-violet leaves with elevated silver areas highlighted by rouged veins--and complemented by a glowing maroon underleaf. Even in the greenhouse, this will definitely rest during winter, shedding its leaves and extended vine stems, but maintaining the thick nearly tuberous central base and soft trunk during which period you need to keep it barely moist. Do not let it completely dry out during this period or you will observe the terminal dormancy of this fantastically beautiful species. This is a difficult plant. We try to send good plants out during the warmer months. We will not ship this plant if it is in a state of dormancy so be aware there can be a wait to recieve your order if this is included. If this plant does not do well for you, we are not responsible. This plant is a beauty, but an extreme challenge to grow and will not be replaced or refunded for a failure. Good luck.

Some of you grow only indoors, some only in terrariums; many of you have hobby greenhouses; while a growing number of customers live in subtropical or tropical areas of the world. These brief codes are an attempt to suggest whether or not a particular plant will do well in your particular conditions.
If an entry has the cluster HP CGH, this means normal house plant culture will be successful if the plant is given a cool CGH moist location; however if the entry has the cluster CGH HP, you would interpret this to suggest that while Cool Greenhouse conditions are needed for total success with this plant, House Plant conditions will be adequate, while not ideal. If the cluster is HH CGH you would interpret this to mean that while in Zone 8 or below this will be winter hardy outdoor, further north it will need considerable mulch, a cold frame, or a Cool Greenhouse to thrive. And so on.
