Often considered hardy, northern climes can have some problems. We list these in both the hardy and tropical lists with this disclaimer.

55614 DATURA INOXA VARIEGATA [MISSOURI MARBLE] SOL TGH PRICE: $ 25.00 Now available. Can be a bit tricky if grown as a houseplant; best procedure is to grow in the garden and treat as an tender perennial. It is also good as an urn plant. Very limited but available for April-May Shipping. The remarkable "Variegated Evening Trumpet" While famous as Scopolamine's source, this fabulous creature merits a prime conservatory spot for pink tinted white margined leaves; violet horizontal stems; big fragrant white upright trumpet flowers.

42265 DATURA METEL CORNUCOPAEA SOL CGH SSA PRICE: $ 4.00 Large purple speckled cream trumpets held semi-erect thereby revealing the three-tiered fragrant layers: "Double Purple Horn of Plenty" famous as source of Scopolamine. Sometimes listed as D. arborea 'Double Black.' We have this only on a most irregular seasonal basis--check with us to see if seedlings are available. Always creates a sensation here when it starts blooming late summer.

10311 DAVALLIA FEJENNSIS MAJOR POLYP TGH PRICE: $ 15.00 Larger form of rabbit foot fern. Leaves are larger and heavier than the Davallia trichomanoides. Eventually makes a good basket. This may take a longer time to ship, because it is not too common. Inquire.

10321 DAVALLIA TRICHOMANOIDES POLYP HP PRICE: $ 7.50 The Standard brown rabbit foot fern. Sometimes called "Squirrel Foot." Foliage is finely highly divided and light to medium green--typically larger than its showier cousin, Humata tyermanii. See Thumbnails.

10484 DAVALLIA (HUMATA) TYERMANII POLYP HP PRICE: $ 6.25 "White Rabbit Foot." The arched, vigorous foot is covered with pure white hairs-- very furry. The fronds are lacy and deep, rich green. "Humata" is the true genus name, but we double referenced it because it looks so much like a Davallia and sometimes appears as such in the wholesale trade. Excellent as a pot plant, outstanding in a hanging basket for a houseplant as survives less than ideal levels of humidity.

Often considered hardy, northern climes can have some problems. We list these in both the hardy and tropical lists with this disclaimer.

83113 DENDRANTHEMA HILLSIDE PINK COMP HH CGH PRICE: $ 5.25 Also, very hardy in our climate. Excellently densely foliaged "Sheffield Mum" with beguiling single soft pink single flowers during late fall--and thus often grown in the hobby greenhouse in northern climes. 61701 DENDRANTHEMUM [CHRYSANTHEMUM] FIRECHIEF [HYB]COMP HH CGH PRICE: $ 4.50 Shamelessly dramatic "Cascade Mum" for brilliant late Fall displays with much terminal branching to present the cluster of scarlet red flowers, each with a showy bronzy yellow center. Very vigorous--loved by topiary and bonsai fanciers. While winter hardy outdoors here, the very late blooming date deems this a potplant in most midwest and northern climes and thus an excellent candidate for the hobby greenhouse.

40189 DIANELLA CAERULEA VARIEGATA LIL HP CGH PRICE: $18.00 "Blue Flax Lily" Elegant fans of thin leathery lance leaves brilliantly striped gold; clear blue flowerss followed by berries of birdsegg blue; this New South Wales "Paroo Lily" performs well as a houseplant; though cats will attempt to consume it. Most successfully grown like "New Zealand Flax" with bright cool (not freezing) winters; as well as most dramatically displayed as a specimen pot plant with them; currently enjoying much popularity as a dramatic upright accent in larger patio continer designs. We have enough stock currently to keep up with demand.

41480 DIANELLA CAERULEA WHITE STRIPE LIL HP TGH PRICE: $18.00 Unidentified stoloniferous species with erect arched leaves striped and margined with brilliant white. 43140 DICHONDRA ARGENTEA SILVER FALLS CONV CGH HH PRICE: $ 4.00 Excellent trailing cascading vine with slim stems covered with small hoof (Ginkgo?) shaped shimmery silver leaves; also useful outdoors, as is perfect as a quick (but tropical) prostrate groundcover in rockeries, or between stepping stones. A fabulous silver accent for any red or purple foliaged plant; an excellent foil for blooming cascading plants in summer hanging baskets; also very successful in window boxes and urns. And when you find a blossom you will realize that you are growing a relative of the Morningglories! Although its many uses have encouraged most nurseries to stock this for spring bedding sales, this beauty has typically disappeared by midsummer; thus, we keep it in stock (or at least intend to) for those late summer topiary projects.

51921 DICHORISANDRA PENDULA COMM TGH PRICE: $15.00 This is definitely a "Propagate to Order" plant. It is slow to root and we usually take the cutting only after the order comes in to us. Be prepared to wait, possibly, if you order this. Tall bamboo mimic stalks from which arch pagodesque stems cloaked with glossy deep green, slightly patterned waxy leaves and beautiful delicate clusters of blue shading to violet spiderwort blossoms held on arching outthrust stems, thus the "Blue Pendant Ginger" although only the flowering side branchlets are actually pendant This very chill sensitive Spiderwort may become a big hit with the hobby greenhouse croud always looking for a new "wow" plant with which to amaze their friends. Can only be shipped during the warmest periods.

50517 DICHORISANDRA THRYSIFLORA VARIEGATA COMM HP PRICE: $ 4.25 "Blue Ginger" Heads of dark electric-blue flowers top tall, jointed stems with glossy heavy leaves faintly banded silver & toned purplish-blue beneath. Brazilian native of easy culture. This and its name arrived here from Longwood Gardens many years ago. The amount of coloration on the foliage depends strongly on level of fertilization, ambient temperatures, and juvenile versus mature canes.

50014 DICLIPTERA [JACOBINIA] SUBERECTA ACAN CGH HP PRICE: $ 3.75 Cupped oval gray leaves, richly velvety haired surfaces giving a silvery tone, on low arching stems; showy brick-red two lipped rust orange designed blossoms in "King's Crown" heads appear during winter. From Uruguay (and thus tolerant of considerable chill), where this is known as the "Hummingbird Plant," this undemanding carpeting or cascading "shrimp" cousin (while traditionally a greenhouse basket or groundcover subject) has recently become popular as an undemanding attractive summer urn and windowbox item adding a soft velvety tone to any combination.

41947 DICHRONEMA COLORATA [HORT] XCYP CGH HP PRICE: $ 8.50 Handsome Carex cousin with tidy grassy tufts accented by slim tight clusters of elegant stems topped with star shaped bracts of clear white modulating to green tips. 30189 DIEFFENBACHIA AMOENA ARA HP PRICE: $ 10.00 "Dumbcane" Very thick trunk supports strong wide leaves with creamy white lateral veins. Sturdy large plants. Even though once easily aquired, usually only the cold sensitive 'Snow Queen' cultivar is available in the nursery trade currently; thus we recommend this species form because it tolerates cooler temps than most species & hybrids.

43070 DIEFFENBACHIA ANNE [HYB] ARAC HP TGH PRICE: $ 22.00 Central cream veins accent the creamy ocher leaf with its occasional forest green blotches; darker shading at margins dramatically accented by a showy ivory rim. One could call this dwarf statured "Margined Dumbcane" more variegated than patterned. Petite enough to include in a large wardian case design.

30202 DIEFFENBACHIA MACULATA BARRAQUINIANA ARAC HP PRICE: $4.00 Pointed leaf has bold white midrib and almost randomly scattered creamy dots; the leaf stalks (as well as the striated trunks) are ivory white and thus quite popular in Asia as considered to denote "bringer of good luck." Perhaps identical to 'Sao Antonia' in the Philippine trade. For the collector of seldom available "Dumbcane" species.

60044 DISCHIDIA ALBIDA [HORT] ASC HP TGH PRICE: $ 3.50 "Propeller Vine" Propeller-shaped pairs of attractive gray- green leaves on soft swollen pendant (or climbing if it can find something to twine around) stems make this a great basket subject--extremely popular twining about on open wire topiary frams. Bizarre little clusters of urn shaped blimp blossoms sometimes appear at leaf nodes. This is most effectively presented gently twining about the outlines of an open wire topiary, very cute when wraped around and around a mossed succulent wreath. Typically sent as an unrooted cutting in dry moss.

60052 DISCHIDIA CHINENSIS [HORT] ASC HP TGH PRICE: $ 8.50 Similar habit to D. albida; but the fat glaucous leaves, always in pairs, are more diamond shaped. A collection from Nanning, China introduced by Plant It Herbs initially.

60047 DISCHIDIA FORMOSANA MAXIUM [FORMOSA #1] ASC PRICE: $ 6.50 Little rounded fleshy leaves of bright (nearly glossy) basil green on slim meandering stems, making this a natural on mossed topicary; pouchy cream blooms in tiny clusters. Smaller statured than the other species offered here (not very "maximum" in actual stature!)... and very in demand for succulent wreaths as only forms small clinging surface roots. Most easily sent as unrooted cuttings in moss.

60970 DISCHIDIA NUMMULARIFOLIA MARGINATA ASC HP TGH PRICE: $ 9.25 Available again for 2008. Succulent fat green button leaves, each margined in rich ivory, are closely paired on the surface stems which shallowly root on any epiphytic mix or cork bark or treefern plaque. We have seen these growing in hanging baskets also with great effect. One of our favorite plants. These "Owl Eyes" flourish in light garden conditions. Sometimes sent as mossed URC. Never try to grow in a deep pot as this is quite epiphytic.

61024 DISCHIDIA RUSCIFOLIA ASC TGH $ 8.25 Slim stems stiftly arch out under the weight of precisely ranked small fleshy trapizoidal leaves. Very cute; much admired by those who collect the smaller statured Hoyas. As with all Dischidias, this needs a perfectly drained epiphytic mix in order to thrive, soon forming an arching carpet of deep green cookie cutter foliage. This is usually sent as unrooted cuttings (they root very easily).

59179 DISCHIDIA SPECIES # 77111 [WAKEFIELD] ASC TGH HP PRICE: $ 5.75 Attractive vine with opposite succulent leaves; odd blimp blossoms like tiny urns crouded into tight clusters. This is a great performer on wire topiary with its cute fleshy propeller leaf pairs like fleshy ears on the soft succulent (and very pliable) stems. Our customers often use this accomodating groundcover at the base of tall bromelliads both as an attractive base and as an excellent soil/bark stabilizer.

40197 DIZYGOTHECA ELEGANTISSIMA ARA TGH $ 4.25 "False Aralia" Slim lacy palmate leaves; on elegant dark purple woody stems. Good hemp mimic! Available once again. An old Victorian favorite.

40196 DIZYGOTHECA ELEGANTISSIMA GALAXY ARAL HP TGH PRICE: $ 6.75 "False Aralia" selection with very dark wide leaflets of dark green with pinked (as with sheers) rims--deep violet toned undersides. Has also been marketed as 'Castor' and as 'Olympia' over the years.

THE FAMOUS MING ARALIA IN A VARIEGATED FORM!!

41919 DIZYGOTHECA ELEGANTISSIMA MARGINED RIM ARAL TGH HP PRICE: $ 6.25 Marvelous selection of "False Aralia" with each threadlike metalic segment of the palmate leaves elegantly margined soft tannish pink when emerges, soon fading to a pale cream. Needs pruning to encourage juvenile foliage. This is for larger terrarium enclosures primarily (popular as an exclamation point in wardian case designs); but is also a great standard house plant.

54561 DOMBEYA WALLICHII BYT CGH HP PRICE: $ 8.50 Stout stalks with impressive foliage present the remarkably showy balls of crowded rich pink flowers emitting a rich honey fragrance. Needs light and room. Always good to observe that an old favorite is so totally back in style--especially with our many Florida and Texas collector customers. Nevertheless, most likely the most easily grown over-the-top giant flower heads regularly produced in a northern or midwest hobby greenhouse.

A group of Dorstenias, including the very odd Dorstenia gigas from Socotra

41748 DORSTENIA CARNULOSA MOR HP TERR PRICE: $ 5.00 Marvelous caudiform species with bowling pin trunk studded with small thick leaves and cute "open-handed" hypanthodiums. Prefers warmth, thus ideal for growing under lights. Certainly the least demanding (culturally) of the caudiform group of Dorstenias.

40202 DORSTENIA CONTRAJERVA MOR HP TGH PRICE: $ 10.00 "Tortus Herb" Haired 8" silvery-patterned leaves deeply elaborately lobed arch out from succulent segmented stems; rayed receptacles (hypanthodiums) resemble crazed sea coral. Odd one with much slower growth rate and less fertile than the following easily grown form. Thus: for the jaded collector of the fig family.

40203 DORSTENIA CONTRAJERVA AMPLIFOLIA MOR HP TGH PRICE: $ 5.00 "Wart Flower" Wider, shallower hypanthodium lobing than the species form (see previous entry) with the typical leaf also less lobed; the thick tuberculed succulent stem is unsegmented. Easy culture. Probably the species known as "Drake's Foot" used as a cure for snakebite in Central & South America, thus also known as "Tortus Herb." Dramatic in a large terrarium, yet quite easily grown on any windowsill--if it (for mysterious reasons) remains unwatered for some extended period of time and drops its leaves, just begin watering again and a new set will soon appear as the pseudo-caudex trunk retains life for a good stretch of time (and remember to keep the dried leaves for your snakebite medical kit). Can you afford not to have this houseplant?

60842 DORSTENIA FOETIDA MOR HP PRICE: $ 10.00 Rather curious small caudiform in the fig family. This Dorstenia has the typical shield flower and slightly fuzzy leaves. Great for a bonsai pot.

41582 DORSTENIA PSILURUS MOR HP TGH $ 45.00 "Cheshire Cat Plant" From surface succulent caudex of odd lumpy old-man-knees arise short slim stems studded with lvs ending in fleur-de-lis tridents; distinctive hypanthodium shaped like a smiling sliver tipped with cat's whiskers. Best to grow a year plus with the splitting pale "E.T.' Fingers" caudex burrowing happily below the surface so will be far more tolerant when later (if you wish) exposed. Perfect for the collector of caudiforms who thought they already had the "rare" ones!

41802 DORSTENIA GIGAS MOR HP PRICE: $ 35.00 WE ARE SOLD OUT UNTIL SPRING 2013. Very curious plant from Socotra. This plant is bumpy caudexed with bubble textured leaves. It has everything for the collection of odd and usual and caudiciform plants. We have a limited number of these available now. Best to inquire. Everyone who sees this plant in our collection wants to take it away.

40207 DORSTENIA RADIATA MOR HP TGH PRICE: $ 4.50 Similar to upright purple blushed succulent stalked mannii, but leaves darker & hypanthodium producing a great number of shorter rays; perfect in any child's collection as the necessary "Hand Plant" demanding only high light to succeed.

40209 DORSTENIA TURNERAEFOLIA MOR HP TGH PRICE: $ 8.00 Shiny deep green elm-shaped leaves and ray-less round purple receptacles on glossy maroon tubercular stems; low light prefered to keep rich dark sheened foliage color. Perhaps same as Dorstenia bahiensis (Sucre), even though the sap is a remarkable orange! Excellent house plant.

41732 DRACAENA DEREMENSIS SHOGUN GOLD AGA HP TGH PRICE: $ 22.00 The "Golden Pineapple Top" is a sport of 'Janet Craig Compacta' with new leaves emerging golden ochre. Very rare--we faithfully maintain this treasure originally received from the Singapore Botanic Gardens for it seems to have vanished from the trade. Please be advised that the lime gold will not be very apparent if this cultivar is grown in low light.

58483 DRACAENA FRAGRANS MARGINED VICTORIAE AGA TGH PRICE: $ 22.00 Wide leathery leaves heavily striped with cream and butter yellow thoughout; stout woody trunk. Similar but easier and faster to grow than the true D. Victoriae.

40223 DRACAENA REFLEXA GRACILIS AGA HP TGH PRICE: $ 3.25 Formerly Pleomele reflexa. Short attractive waxy leathery dark strap leaves in tightly overlapped worls to cover slender upright strong stems. This attractive deep green houseplant will grow where all else fails; indeed, if you kill this you automatically enter the "Brown Thumb" hall of fame.

40224 DRACAENA REFLEXA SONG OF INDIA AGA HP TGH PRICE: $ 8.00 Ribbed trunks support thick swirls of short dark strap leaves margined in wide ivory bands. Formerly listed in reference books as Pleomele reflexa variegata or 'Song of India.' Few house plants this highly variegated flourish in normal dry indoor conditions as well as this one.

40225DRACAENA REFLEXA SONG OF JAMAICA AGA HP TGH PRICE: $8.00 Swirled strap leaves with central yellow stripes; readily tolerates low light conditions. Waxy foliage withstands lack of humidity indoors where other plants fail.

40232 DRACAENA THALIOIDES AGAV HP TGH PRICE: $ 5.75 Stiff fans of crepe mimic leaves; this Pleomele thalioides famous for surviving very low light conditions. The terminal spikes of highly scented flowers may be fragrant to some, but reminescent of airplane glue to others. Not the most stunning showpiece, but a handsome survivor with attractive leathery foliage.

41880 DURANTA ERECTA [SPECIOSA] AUREO-MEDIA VER HP TGH PRICE: $ 5.25 Unusual "Lemon Drop" clone of "Skyflower" with each small leaf center splashed golden ochre. Freely produced white blossoms. Excellent twiggy small foliaged subject for small statured tropical bonsai as can be easily trained in lateral directions, yet beautiful also as a windowsill plant or in a patio container.

57500 DURANTA ERECTA GOLD MOUND VER HP CGH PRICE: $ 5.25 Low arching stems lined with lovely small solid golden leaves (pale lime in low light) forming the perfect golden gilded bonsai. Lovely as a windowsill plant expecially when producing its delicate wands of white flowers; a popular new outdoor shub in the warmer edge of the subtropics. Far more duminitive than the larger golden forms of D. plumierii.

41254 DURANTA REPENS [ERECTA?] VARIEGATA VER CGH HP PRICE: $ 6.50 "Variegated Skyflower" Serrated glossy small leaves splashed white--when grown in full sun the foliage may emerge ivory white, gradually fading with maturity. China blue flowers, if pollinated, are followed by bright "Pigeon Berry" fruit. The distinctive variegation (which is a speckling, not a solid margin) may disappear in constantly warmer climates. Nonetheless, the small leaves and twiggy nature of this clone combine to maintain it the favorite of tropical bonsai enthusiasts.

57476 DURANTA PLUMIERII GOLDEN EDGE VER HP CGH PRICE: $ 8.00 Superbly flashy. Limber stems present showy buttery gold leaves, with central gray green flame, & terminate with purple elongated flower clusters, then gold berries. Excellent new Japanese selection of this Caribbean species which is much larger in stature than the Duranta erecta cultivars..

41585 DURANTA PLUMIERII [REPENS] VARIEGATA VER HP TGH PRICE: $ 12.00 "Ivory Margined Skyflower" Vining shrubs with woody out arching stems ranked with beautiful glossy toothed leaves with very wide creamy-white margins. The blue (fading to lilac) flower clusters are followed by yellow "Pigeon Berry" fruit. Caribe native. Foliage flashier than the repens/erecta complex--although the nomenclature exists in a perpetual fog currently.

42142 DURANTA SPECIES DWARF VER TGH HP PRICE: $ 5.00 Hansoti #26; possibly an extreme dwarf clone of D. repens (although Botanists now suggest that all are species erecta--bit of a contrast?), yet the sprays of delicate flowers are of rich lilac, not blue. Outstanding dependable pot plant from India currently gaining much popular favor with prunner armed bonsai fanciers; a shrublet for the wardian case. Most successful as a windowsill houseplant.

The Succulent Bromeliads, the Dyckias, adapt well to Many Home Conditions!

52098 DYCKIA BREVIFOLIA YELLOW GLOW BRO HP CGH $ 18.00 Available again in the early Spring of 2013. Hummel's selection of a yellow variegated succulent mounding Bromeliad resembling a hemisphere of interlocked Agaves. Beautiful & rare, yet of easy culture demanding only very bright light and perfectly drained media.

53396 DYCKIA BURGUNDY ICE BRO HP CGH PRICE: $ 15.00 Brand New in 2010. This plant has the darkest and most cranberry colored overtones of any of the Dyckias we offer. Like the other Dyckias below, makes a great indoor or windowsill subject. Take advantage of the low price for this spectcular hedgehog with very downturned heavily armed waxy purple foliage.

52099 DYCKIA CARLSBAD BRO HP CGH PRICE: $ 18.00 Thick-leaved hybrid smaller than D. platyphylla parent; first forms an elegant very succulent rosette, then offsets to form an interlaced (spiny leaved monster) mound. Our price reflects our unwillingness to tackle the daunting creature! But remains an excellent impressive Agave mimic in any succulent collection, a great undemanding performer on any bright windowsill.

58535 DYCKIA GRAPE JELLY BRO HP CGH PRICE: $ 9.00 Nicely formed hemispherical plants of a wild form of Dyckia that is purple in color probably closed aligned to the Burgandy Ice clone above. Nomenclature again in uncertain because of the fact that these were cloned from a superior growing plant in a private collection.

55249 DYCKIA PERUVIANA BRO HP CGH PRICE: $ 15.00 Nicely formed hemispherical plants of a wild form of Dyckia that is compact and easily grown. Nomenclature is suspect.

58534 DYCKIA SABER TOOTH BRO HP CGH PRICE: $ 9.50 Nicely formed hemispherical plants of a wild form of Dyckia that is silver in color and multiheads quickly. Nomenclature again in uncertain because of the fact that these were cloned from a superior growing plant in a private collection.

41029 ELATOSTEMA SESSILE WEEPING LADY URT HP TGH PRICE: $ 4.25 "Weeping Pilea" Slightly quilted toothed leaves of deep shiny green clusters on arched "weeping" fleshy succulent stems; this selection darker and more compact than species type--we are informed that many herbal cures include the sap of this plant. Adds height in a Wardian Case design.

40234 ELAEAGNUS PUNGENS MACULATA ELEADOR ELA HH CGH PRICE: $ 10.00 Frosted slate green leaves with bold yellow centers; variegated cultivar of the "Arbutus Shrub" hardy in the south, but best as "Golden Silverthorn" foliage plant for a cool location inside in the north where it still forms "Gumi-flower Red Berry."

Great tufted "Toe Tickler Grass" (tho actually in the spikerush clan) most popular for multiple uses, even for bright terrariums. Never allow to dry out, for the result will certainly be terminal dormancy.

53021 ELETTARIA [AMOMUM] CARDAMOMUM DWARF ZIN HP TGH PRICE: $ 4.25 "Dwarf Cardamom Ginger" Small version of this spice--attractive, easily grown houseplant with wonderfully fragrant foliage quickly clumping in a windowsill pot. A tonic and expectorant, also ingested to aid digestion; belived by some to detoxify caffeine. We most emphatically do not stand by any of these claims!

40650 ENSETE MAURELII MUS TGH CGH PRICE: $ 28.00 "Abyssinian Black Banana" While having the thick heavy substance of M. ventricosa, the blackish red leaves flaunt mahogany midribs and margins; purple-carmine underleaf is revealed as leaf unfurls; red-bracted inflorescenceorescence. This is the astounding giant we keep at the patio-pond area here every summer. Come fall the foliage is removed and the tub is carted off into the unheated (but never freezing) porch for the winter where it always unfurls several dramatic bronze leaves for tropical drama while the snow falls outside. If you watch PBS's series on Africa, note stands of this banana around the Eritrean villages where the natives use every part of this plant in their economy. In our experience, this never offsets--the most ordered ornamental form currently as its photo seems to (quite deservedly) crop up in magazines everywhere. Certainly the most easily grown of all the tribe as a container plant--but be sure not to pot in a deep container as the roots grow more outward than directly down.

73831 EPHEDRA REGELIANA ORC TGH HP PRICE: $ 12.00 "Vining Ephedra." Small plant up to 10 cm tall, with woody stem; branchlets striate, smooth slender. Male strobili 2-3 whorled ;flowers 4-8; bracts orbicular, connate; staminate column exserted; anthers 5-8; female strobili solitary; flowers 1-2 ; tubillus ± 1.5 mm long, straight. Berry globose, red.

30233 EPIPREMNUM FALCIFOLIUM AUREUM ARAC HP TG PRICE: $ 6.00 "Golden Pothos" Beautiful scandent vine with closely ranked golden lance leaves; this quite rare cultivar of the vigorous indonesian species creates a spectacular hanging basket curtain of bright lemon gold, but equally beautiful in dishgardens and as a ground cover for taller, more leggy houseplants. Rarely offered, easily grown, always stunning. Recently Martha Stewart suggested adding this to summertime hanging baskets and mixed foliage urns: we tried it and: as usual, she is absolutely on track as all performed beautifully.

30229 EPIPREMNUM [SCINDAPSIS] AUREUM ARAC HP TGH PRICE: $ 4.50 "Golden Pothos" Yellow splashed waxy leaved "Devil's Ivy" is still unrivaled as dish garden and hanging basket survivor. When planted out in the tropics this vine produces mature leaves achieving amazing stature by the time the vine reaches the top of a palm.
