Nearly evergreen if kept in warmish winter greenhouse avoiding an extended winter dormancy. The same semi-aquatic plant as the one various of you ordered from us years ago as 'Hawai'i Silver Kapo' which was Waimea's name for it. Perhaps will remain the best of the decorative Taros for houseplant and litegardening projects.

31453COLOCASIA NANCYANA NANCY'S REVENGE ARAC TGH CGH $ 15.00 Amazing "Starburst Elephant Ear" with new rounded tipped very dark leaves displaying a creany starry center radiating out as the thickly textured leaves mature--beware: this species can nearly reach the massive dimension of Alocasia odora (although the spathes resemble C. esculenta)! To see this is to need it--very popular with hobby greenhouse growers as will produce small more highly colored lvs all winter in full sun than it seems to unfurl in the summer bog's heat--absolutely will not tolerate chill. And the name? Jerry Kranz discovered this in the Caribbean and named it for Nancy McDaniels.

31414COLOCASIA [XANTHOSOMA] MACULATUS ARAC TGH $ 15.00 Heavily mottled arrow shaped foliage always stays compact for us; must have moisture and considerable constant warmth for best dramatic show. from Larry Lowman, Ridgecrest Nursery, this resembles a Caladium more than the other taros.

20053 COLUMNEA GLORIOSA GOLD HEART GES HP $ 4.25 Pendant stems ranked with pairs of pubescent leaves, each with a central lime blotch. Reddish "Dragon Head" stavenger outfacing blossoms. This is a more vigorous clone than that offered years ago which tolerated no high temperatures; the absolutely pendant stems make this a natural for the hanging basket, although it is also a favorite of designers of moss topiaries as it is easily pinned to the moss surface, rooting along the stem. This is a robust and handsome plant for indoors or even on the porch during the summer.

20083 COLUMNEA TOSCA [HYB] GES HP TGH $ 4.75 Very shrubby habit rigidly cascading with long barely haired leaves perfect with the fuzzy flared red tubular blossoms; this antique "Bona's Red Dragonflower" still is among the strongest growing, most easily bloomed of any hybrid.

10202 COLYSIS MEMBRANIFOLIA POLYP HP CGH $ 45.00 Heavy parchment-leathery strapfronds with wavy edges and somewhat glaucous surface with purplish net of veins & odd violet mid-rib. Distinctive rare footed fern species from Philippines which some customers initially think is a rubbermaid recreation of a strapfern. We can often only send generous divisions as potted sections typically sell out immediately in the display sales house. This is a serious commitment to a major fantastically splendid specimen! We are informed that the heavily textured strap fronds deal with the lower humidity of most houses quite well, demanding only strong light to be a successful houseplant.

10204 COLYSIS WRIGHTII POLYP HP CGH $ 4.75 Very compact deep green strap fronds with tiny depressions on surface like hammered tin. Very attractive small fern equally successful as a windowsill pot plant (looks great in a small bonsai pot as the wiry maroonish rhizomes wander over the lip) and as a small statured vertical accent in the sophisticated terrarium. Delicate appearance, yet easy to grow.

11431 COLYSIS WRIGHTII MONSTRIFERA POLYP CGH TERR $ 9.25 Short glossy membraneous fronds, elaborately veined, widely fluted into undulant tips like an Art Nouveau fantasy. This tassled rare dwarf is petite enough to be perfect in a terrarium, yet quite able to cope with humidity levels of the windowsill or litegarden. Always one of the most popular dwarf ferns we offer--it looks difficult to grow, but is not. Certainly the most Lalique of any plants.

53715 COPROSMA BLACK CLOUD RUB $ 6.25 Much branched busy wiry stemmed shrublet with an intricate lacework of small very dark teardrop leaflets forming a dark decorative cloud of chocolate hued foliage deepening to a rich purple brown with a chill in temperatures, perfectly foiling larger foliaged companion plants; furthermore, this cultivar (possibly the C. repens 'Yvonne' of New Zealand nurseries) has attracted the attention of tropical bonsai shapers because of its woody stems and very petite foliage. We are working hard to keep this in adequate stock--can be a challenge as needs full sun even during the winter; this is a tall order for our part of Ohio..

41488 COPROSMA KIRKII VARIEGATA [HYB] RUB CGH HP $ 4.75 "Dwarf Mirror Plant" Dwarf densely branched willowy stems with small waxy lance leaves margined bright white; said to produce nearly translucent flowers dotted scarlet, which are followed by creamy white berries. C. acerosa x repens hybrid demanding full sun to flourish. Wonderful cascading from a hanging basket or from a summer windowbox; very popular with topiary designers as can readily be pinned to the mossed frame to form a wonderful peacock' s tail, or the white stripes of a zebra, and so on.

41487 COPROSMA REPENS BEATSON'S GOLD RUB CGH HP $ 4.75 "Golden Mirror Plant" Slim rigidly erect branches (rapidly side branching to form a pyramidal habit) cloaked in petite oblong leathery lvs centered in rich buttery yellow. New Zealand treasure tolerant of considerable chill, but requiring bright light to maintain form. Rapidly becoming popular as a bonsai subject due to twiggy stems cloaked with tiny lvs. Remarkable when paired with 'Black Cloud' in shaped standards.

65668 CORDYLINE AUSTRALIS ATROPURPUREA LIL CGH HP $ 5.00 The "Bronze Australian Sword" or more likely, the "False Red Dracaena" with stout decorative stems crowded by elegant clumps of stiff dramatically arching spike leaves toned pinkish bronze in full sun. A fabulous color version of the spiked "Lily Grass" traditionally used in summer urns. With age will become a fountain of dusky bronzed purple atop a woody trunk. So use for a summer urn and abandon to the frost gods or rescue for a winter houseplant.

68454 CORDYLINE TERMINALIS PURPLE COMPACTA AGA TGH $ 6.50 Emerging shrimp tones age to a rich saturated purple on the arched leaves of this "Dwarf Ti Plant"--the individual papery textured leaves are short but wide.

59108 CORDYLINE TERMINALIS KIWI AGA TGH $ 5.00 Urn plant as well as a great subject for your indoor gardens come Fall. Kiwi is one of the most compact with good gold and ash green striped color. It does wonderfully in the house and grows moderately slow. Great for an accent plant.

Impressive! While excellent as a container subject with silvered or golden foliaged plants, this foliar sculpture reaches an impressive performance peak when treated as a bog plant in full sun.

51027 CRINUM ASIATICUM VARIEGATUM AMARY TGH HP $ 35.00 "Striped Bengal Lily" Large fleshy sword-like leaves are most liberally streaked white & cream; fragrant clusters of waxy white fls with purpled centers. Striking decorator specimen for the warm greenhouse--drops roots if soil is cool. Certainly the easiest and most dramatic for the hobby greenhouse; equally wonderful if brought out into your outdoor display pool for the summer (but does best if not submerged). Unlike most variegated Crinum cultivars, if given adequate warmth, this one NEVER drops foliage in a cycle of dormancy or in a fit of stubbornness, but incrementally adds more and more fantastically white striped succulent leafs to create a magnificent specimen.

51152 CRINUM JAPONICUM SHIMA-IRE AMARY CGH $ 35.00 Large clone with bright central banded variegation on each ( broad fleshy leaf held in a crown of foliage above the long necked stem); R. Bennett's excellent clone which presents impressively fragrant blossoms--these immense heads of tubular ivory flowers are best initiated by letting the old mature bulb dry enough during the summer to enter a dormancy period. Start watering (or simply set in a pan kept full of water) heavily early fall to bring forth the richly scented winter flowers along with fresh brightly variegated foliage.

51029 CRINUM MOOREI VARIEGATUM AMARY CGH TGH 65.00 Variegated form of "Longneck Swamp Lily" of Natal; broad, nearly succulent leaves with creamy white and straw yellow stripes, usually with bright green rim top a somewhat woody trunk or "neck" adding much drama. Tulip shaped pale pink quickly fading to pearl white flowers in nodding clusters. This most showy. "Veldt Lily" needs to be dormant during most of the hot summer in order to re-sprout and bloom mid-winter. Reaches considerable girth--but always earns its space.

51032 CRINUM ST. CHRISTOPHER [HYB] AMARY CGH $ 10.00 "Tulip Crinum" Fragrant snow-white tulip-cupped flower clusters over compact vases of fleshy leaves; we have received reports that customers have bloomed this in a sunny window with regular fertilizer and feet in a shallow bowl of water.
