Interwoven: The Art of Mamerto Tindongan
The Wood Carvings of Mamerto Tindongan
We are very pleased to offer various items from the works of Mamerto Tindonga. Many of Mr. Tindongan's works are commisions, such as the large eagle below and some of the totems and dragons. These are pictured below to show the range of his work as well as to illustrate that Mamerto does commision work. We are pleased to offer some of his "personal" pieces below. These are works he does do please his own artistic temperment. We especially like the "Hand" chairs and the Green Man faces. We are very pleased that is is displaying these works at the Glasshouse Works Fine Arts Gallery. They can be seen on Fridays and Saturdays during our open hours. The items below are all of a size that they can be shipped, so below is an offering of his original items also. Check back here shortly for further entries and offerings. The Glasshouse Works has a new domain name for entry into our new Showrooms, Fineartsdesigns.com. You might want to book mark it.
"One of my purposes in life is to respect and celebrate the temporal and
spatial symbiotic relationship of living beings on earth. The interaction
of lines, shapes, and forms in my sculpture symbolize the interdependence
of life. I view wood, my medium, as symbolic of life itself. Whenever I
work with wood I feel its radiating energy interacting with mine to
recreate its shape. The rhythmic sound of my gouge and mallet -- TAP! TAP!
TAP! -- is music to my soul."
