ANTHURIUM ANDREANUM HYBRID
Anthurium andreanum is involved in a great deal of hybridization. Pictured here is a standard red hybrid. We are offering a wide range of plants from this complex. Some of the newest and most unusual can cost thousands of dollars. Luckily many are available at a much more reasonable cost. Many local stores offer hybrid clones with amnicola and have smaller flowers and shades of pink to rose. These are great plants too, but the purer the andreanum the larger and more spectacular the flower. We offer the red and pink in the standard form. We are also lucky enough to offer the Obake hybrids with two-tone flowers. (Pronounced o-bok-ee) These are combinations of green and pink or green and red. There are other types that may appear in our specialty lists later on. At this time, doubles and triples are being bred from new stock mutations and hybrids. They are not hard to grow in the house; they just require patience.
