Welcome to our new Showroom. The Glasshouse Works recently purchased an old hotel building (small town hotel) and moved our offices to part of the lower floor. There are two floors--a skyscraper by Stewart, Ohio standards! and we have created a showroom for our Home, Conservatory, and Garden items in three of the large old rooms of our new office area. In the links below over the next few months, you will find listed more and more of the items from our Showroom for you to buy on the Internet. Peruse the following items and links for your home and garden needs. This page will show featured items from our various galleries and plant selections each month. We have been bringing in distinctive items from around the world often not found at other shops. In addition to our importations, various of the items we offer are by Ohio craftmen and artists! So take a look. Also, please note just below several featured new rare plants that just arrived! We will let the snow fly for a bit longer during January until we decide that spring is truly on its way.

Our Specialty Listings

New! The Glasshouse Works Commissions from China

Our First commissioned items from China are now here! We have just received a group of twelve Chinese Auspicious Animals! They are sculpted in either marble and granite. We picture three of them just below. We call them "Lucky Beasts." indeed it it difficult to translate directly from the Chinese, but these beasts are a great piece of sculpture for the garden. We are keeping one inside by the fireplace. They traditionally are put in the garden because they are said to give good fortune to the owner and to protect from evil spirits. They are considered great watchers of the home and garden. We have seen these in various forms and different media over the years. The image we had these designed from was from a large incense burner in copper which we saw at the famous "Sun of Heaven" Chinese exhibit 10 years ago. We chose them to be in lasting stone for our gardening friends. Keep this in mind for the fall and winter holiday season. The one foot high size is perfect for the home too. The price is amazing low considering the fact that we had to made to order and they were shipped from just outside Beijing!

49427 AGAPANTHUS AFRICANUS VARIEGATED DWARF $ 22.50New introduction. This is a highly variegated and very stable new clone of the dwarf form of agapanthus africanus. It sometimes has been called Peter Pan, but we noted that this plant is a bit smaller than the one we have now and is not as robust a grower. We are quite pleased with this plant for vigor and beauty as well as blooming. The flowers are typical blue to lavender with standard size. We recommend growing it as a house plants in all cold winter areas, but it can easily be adapted to the patio during the summer. What a looker.

The Art of David Whitehill

David Whitehill has creates oils and acrylics for forty years. For fear of pinning a title on a painter of as many talents as David Whitehill, his art could be the art of a modern surrealist. But there are so many other angles to this multifacited talent! Mr. Whitehill uses dream images and waking images as the basis for his art. Often a dream will lead to a canvas.
